Design Engineering

Submec can supply a complete engineering service. The services supported range from project management , conceptual and detail design, finite element analysis, structural analysis, preparation of specifications, electrical and hydraulic design, operation & maintenance procedures and the development of products. With the support of several independent engineering companies, hydraulics, electronics and pneumatics are taken care of with expertise. This is in line with Submec's core business philosophy.

Design Services

Submec has several outstanding mechanical designers on staff. They have the ability to enhance the styling and function of an existing design or product, or take an idea from a sketch or thought and bring it to reality. We have designed product for clients who knew want they wanted but did not know how to or have the resources to accomplish the task. Our designers are very skilful and knowledgeable with Mechanical Desktop, inventor, AutoCad software, solidworks, Pro Engineer, Microstrand and Cosmos. These tools bring the concepts to reality quickly and economically. Our design team works closely with our clients to gain the best result and understanding the clients' operational procedures and corporate culture.

Drafting Services

Submec's drafting team works on modern CAD workstations running Mechanical Desktop, Solidworks and AutoCad. We use the client's setup if requested so the completed files look exactly like their own. The client receives their completed project in a usable format, without having to spend precious time editing drawings to their systems configuration. All our draftsmen work to Australian standards (AS1100 etc.) or to the standard requested by the client. At the completion of each project Submec supplies the client with a full set of hard copy drawings, a database of all drawings in the project as well as a digital version of the drawings on CD.

Conceptual / Prototype Services

Using the power of 3D solid modelling software a virtual reality prototype can be developed. Our designers and engineers can discuss and sketch a concept with a client, and within a short time a virtual reality design is available for that presentation. This makes the virtual realty design a valuable tool for the marketing and sales staff, who can show the clients a new product or concept without having to develop the whole product. The virtual reality design also helps the engineers to determine problem areas or improving the product early in its development.
