Subsea Intervention Tooling
Woodside Energy Limited POD Handling Tool System Submec designed and procured the items required to upgrade the handling to be hydraulic operated instead of a manual operation for the divers. The upgrade included a hydraulic chain block system, increasing the flow and pressure of an existing hydraulic power unit. Woodside Energy Limited & Caley Ocean Systems Morgrip Connector Deployment Frame Submec designed and detailed the deployment frame for the 40" morgrip connector. The frame is lowered to the seabed carrying the morgrip connector. Once the deployment frame is in place on the seabed the connector is the positioned on the end of the pipeline by the divers using the hydraulic driven carriage. The design was in accordance with Det Norske Veritas (DNV). BHP Billiton Petroleum Submec designed and engineered the POD jacking tool for the Griffin Venture. The tool is carried to the POD interface by an ROV, once in place the hydraulic cylinder closes the jaw so both jacks can be utilised to break the seal on the POD interface. Submec supplied detail drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, factory acceptance test was carried out and a manufactures data report supplied. Subsea 7 / Woodside Energy Ltd Submec designed and engineered the Subsea Tree Flowline Unlocking Tool for the FMC Christmas Tree at the Wanaea-Cossack Field. The tool is Deployed to the CXT interface and manoeuvred into place by an ROV, once in place the lift rods are locked and adjusted. The hydraulic cylinder then raises the lift rods evenly to unlock the four locking pins. Submec supplied detail drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, factory acceptance test was carried out and a manufactures data report supplied. Woodside Energy Ltd Submec designed and engineered the Linear Override Tool for the FMC Christmas Tree at the Wanaea-Cossack Field. The lock was insert into the rotary interface on the CXT, then the Linear Override Tool pushed the valve open and the ROV rotated the lock closed. Submec supplied detail drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, factory acceptance test was carried out and a manufactures data report supplied. Woodside Energy Ltd Submec designed and engineered the Subsea Hydraulic Bolt Cutter. Submec supplied detail drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, factory acceptance test was carried out and a manufactures data report supplied. Subsea 7 Submec designed and engineered an AX Seal Replacement Tool for Subsea 7 for their work on the Wanaea / Cossack field during October 2005. Subsea 7 Submec designed and engineered a Parrot Beak 36mm Wire Rope Cutter Tool for Subsea 7 for their work on the Wanaea / Cossack field during October 2005. Subsea 7 Submec designed and engineered a 5000 psi Dirty Oil Pack for Subsea 7 for their work on the Wanaea / Cossack field during October 2005. Woodside Energy Ltd Submec designed and engineered a Linear Mechanical Lock for the PWV on Corallina #3 Subsea Tree in the Laminaria / Corallina Field. The Linear lock is used installed onto the valve interface, the Linear Override Tool is then fitted to the lock. The Linear Override Tool pushes the locking shaft forward and the locking pin drop in place when the shaft is at full stroke. Woodside Energy Ltd Submec designed and engineered a Compliant Guide wire Unit (CGU) to assist in the installation & recovery of the Subsea Control Modules (SCM) for the Enfield Operations. The system allows for the Surface Deployment System depth rating to be increased for 150 metres to 500 metres. Once the CGU is at the required depth it can be release from the Module Running Tool (MRT) to keep constant tension on the guide wires and allow the MRT to be lowered over the SCM on the Subsea Tree. Benthic Geotech Submec designed and engineered a Shear Vane Test Tool for Benthic Geotech's PROD system. The tool is 1.9 metres in length and only 58 millimetres in diameter. The shear vane on the end of tool is push into the seabed which automatically starts the program to rotate the shear vane at pre-program speed and time period. At the completion of the set program the tool switches off and the data record is transmitted to the tools memory that can extract when the tool is recovered.
